Dr M S RAMAIAH, the founder of the MSR Group of institutions, was a pioneer in the educational sector in South India. A visionary leader who rose from humble beginnings to being one of the most respected figures in the field of higher education, he saw education as a noble way to serve society. M S RAMAIAH Institute of Technology was founded in 1962 and is today considered to be one of the best technology institutions in the country that attracts students from different parts of the world. Over the years, the legendary founder forayed into medicine, pharmacy, law, science, arts and dentistry. Today, the group is one of the largest of its kind in the country, with most of its programs having been given the autonomy to design and deliver the best because of their excellent track record.

Dr M R PATTABHIRAM, the Managing Trustee of M S RAMAIAH FOUNDATION and Founding Director of RAMAIAH INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES is a chip off the old block. A deeply spiritual and ethical leader, he is well-known for his impeccable integrity and the ability to achieve results without cutting corners. Not surprisingly, besides his many qualifications at the graduate level, he has devoted his doctoral studies to an analysis of Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas and ideals in terms of their profound relevance to the current world. Ever anxious to look beyond the ordinary and the local, he had an abiding passion for creating a management institution that would one day be counted among the best in the world. Thus was born RAMAIAH INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES (RIMS).
